Join us for a special happy hour with Mike Gastineau, the author of his new book, "Fear No Man: Don James, the '91 Huskies, and the Seven- Year Quest for a National Football Championship." If you are a Seattle sports fan, you probably recognize the author's name. Gastineau has been a Seattle sports journalist in radio and print for three decades, including a longtime sports talk-show host for radio station KJR- 950 AM. "Fear No Man," the first book published by UW Press about Husky sports, recounts the riveting story of Don James and the 1991 National Championship team he built. See wac.net/ pickleball-tournament for full event details. 11 Kinsey African American Collection at the Tacoma Art Museum N The Kinsey African American Art & History Collection celebrates the achievements and contributions of Black Americans from 1595 to present day. Considered one of the most comprehensive surveys of African American history and culture outside of the Smithsonian Institution, the exhibition features a collection of masterful paintings and sculptures, photographs, rare books, letters, manuscripts, and more. During a private docent-led tour, we will receive a well-rounded look at the African American experience that provides new perspectives on the nation's history and culture. Meet at the WAC. We're hitting the road and taking over accesso ShoWare Center. Hockey fever is high in Seattle, and we're joining in the madness. WAC dads and sons of all ages will be living the "suite" life as the Seattle Thunderbirds take on the Portland Winterhawks in a WHL matchup. These rival hockey teams are sure to bring the competition, excitement, and speed. Watch them face off from a luxury suite while enjoying dinner and drinks. Event includes game ticket, hockey swag, and dinner.
