This exercise improves your rotational mobility and is a great warmup move before a workout that involves twisting or swinging. 1. Sit on a chair or plyo box with a bar behind your neck. Hold the bar with your palms facing outward. 2. Rotate your torso to one side, keeping your head and neck in line with the rotation. Rotate as far as is comfortable and hold for 30 seconds. Repeat on the opposite side. A N I TA N O W A C K A ( 4 ) Instructor insights Emily Stewart Emily Stewart spent her childhood living in different locales around the United States and in Northern Ire- land. Despite almost yearly relocations with her family, Emily found com- munity and energy at local gyms and community centers. She earned her first fitness certificate—in BCOR Boot- camp—as an undergraduate student at the University of Denver in 2010 and has dedicated her life to group fitness, writing, and numerous other adventur- ous pursuits ever since. Emily moved to Seattle in 2018 aer spending time in India, England, and Malta. In college, Emily developed orthorexia. Aer a year-long recovery, she emerged with a new dedication to exercise as self-care and adventure. She has spoken about her experience at TEDx. "My experience helps me identify with anyone struggling with body image, exercise, and warped social expec- tations," she says.
