We'll be pouring some of the best scotch on the planet, straight from three of the oldest remaining licensed distillers in Scot- land. A special selection of cheese from around the world, a dinner entrée, and a delicious dessert round out this relaxed night at the Top of the WAC. CHOCOLATE MARTINI By Peter Christian, Vice President Food & Beverage The lonesome high desert of Texas seems an unlikely birthplace for the posh chocolate martini. But that's where it was first mixed and poured by none other than legendary old Hollywood film stars Rock Hudson and Elizabeth Taylor in 1955. The pair was filming Giant in Marfa, Texas, when they decided to combine Hershey's chocolate syrup, Kahlúa, and vodka to create the sweet treat that is the chocolate martini. This incredibly tasty drink gained popularity throughout the Hollywood crowd and has enchanted bargoers ever since. Since its inception, the chocolate martini has been concocted with various types of syrups and spirits, but I think the combination of "hazelnutty" Frangelico and rich Godiva chocolate liqueur makes for an especially decadent drink. At the WAC, we also use fragrant vanilla vodka to bring this drink over the top to pure bliss!
