X Friday; 6–8 pm; $23 adults, $17 kids 6–12 (dinner and activities), $20/family (just activities), five and under free 14 Bloedel Reserve & Bainbridge Island Museum of Art N Named one of North America's 10 Best Botanical Gardens by USA Today, Bloedel Reserve's 150 acres on Bainbridge Island encourage you to appreciate nature through quiet walks among gardens and woodlands. Enjoy this relaxing and rejuvenating experience on a 90-minute docent-led stroll through the rhododendrons, formal Japanese garden, and the Bloedels' former estate home. Then, in Winslow, visit the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (BIMA) for lunch at the BIMA Bistro and a docent-led tour of the museum's collection of contemporary regional arts and crafts. N Pickles—crisp, briny, and best eaten straight from the jar! For WAC Chef Eric Floyd, pickles conjure up a certain nostalgia of his grandmother slicing and jarring cucumbers, carrots, beets, cherry tomatoes, and any other veggies she could get her hands on. Eric will walk us through the process from beginning to end, from selecting the best in-season produce to learning cutting techniques, making a briny bath, and finishing for storage. Eric loves to pickle, and it will be an evening of fun! Includes one hosted beverage, light appetizers, and pickled veggies to take home. Class size limited. X Thursday; 6–8 pm; $65; cancel by May 6 16 Curling at Granite Curling Club N Curling—that mysterious sport of stones, brooms, ice and targets! Try your hand at curling with a private event at North Seattle's Granite Curling Club, known for having some of the best ice conditions in North America. Get fitted with grippers and knee pads before a safety talk and instructional video. Then, learn how to throw a stone and curl a full game. It's harder than it looks, so we'll make sure you enjoy a lunch break with pizza, salad, and soft drinks. You can bring your own wine or beer. Suitable for all ages and abilities. Meet there.
