Aer graduating from Boston University, where he rowed competitively all four years, Dan moved back to Seattle and wanted somewhere to stay in shape and grow his network. e WAC was an obvious choice. "I joined and imme- diately felt immersed in a community of great people," he says. "I like getting to know other members over coffee or breakfast." Dan also enjoys early morning workouts on the 5th Floor. One of Dan's favorite WAC memories dates back to childhood. "I was shooting hoops with my dad when a security guard came and told us we had to clear out but we should go up to the track," Dan recalls. "A few minutes later, the Washington Wizards burst through the doors and we got to watch them practice." Jacob Rixon Emerging All-Star Jacob Rixon first moved to Washington for a brief stint while his now wife, Nicole, attended Western Washington University. Aer returning to California and starting a business in Palm Springs, Jacob and Nicole again felt the allure of Washington. "We were looking for something with fitness, food, and social offerings," Jacob says. "We checked out the WAC and loved it." e couple recently welcomed their first child, Olive Gertrude. Jacob oen works remotely from the Club and recently sponsored his father-in-law, Patrick, as a new member. "I needed a workout buddy," Jacob says. During their first year of membership, Jacob and Nicole enjoyed Jubilee 90, glassblowing, and other social events. "We love to do things with other people," he says.
