Cozy up on couches as we watch a classic movie (suggestions welcome!) and nibble our way through the popcorn bar. Pizza will be served for lunch before we make some winter-themed arts and crafts. We'll cap off the day with a swim in the WAC pool. Ages 6–10. X Wednesday; 9 am–4 pm; $95 03 Coding Camp Ever wonder how websites, apps, and video games are built? Head behind the scenes with the WAC's very own Devan Grose (he's also a WAC swim instructor!) as you learn how programmers use, build and repair code. Bring your iPad, tablet or laptop for a hands- on learning experience. Also includes gym time, lunch, and swimming. Ages 6–10. X Thursday; 9 am–4 pm; $95 12 Broomball What is broomball? A totally fun-filled and fast-paced game that is played on the ice without skates. Join us as we take to the ice at Highland Ice Arena in Shoreline for an evening of competition, scoring goals, and pizza. No experience required for this fun evening on the ice. X Wednesday; 6–8 pm; $25; cancel by January 4 23 Living with Our Star N Have you ever wondered about space weather, wanted to chase asteroids, or adventure to the sun? Ann Darrin, managing executive of the Space Exploration Sector at John Hopkins University's Applied Physics Laboratory, presents "Extreme Exploration in our Solar System." Darrin's organization uses intense engineering to understand our universe through spacecraft, such as the record-breaking Parker Solar Probe and New Horizons. She'll share amazing stories about working on the probe that just set a historic record for the closest and fastest approach to the sun by a human-made object. X Wednesday; 6–8pm; $35; cancel by January 8 31 We "Olive" Olive Oil! London Crooker from Northern California's McEvoy Ranch and ODE Natural Beauty will take us on a journey from field to final product. We'll use our senses of smell, taste and touch to learn about the enriching properties of cold-pressed olive oil in everyday cooking and beauty products. Includes light appetizers, wine, and of course, olive oil! X Thursday; 6–8 pm; $35; cancel by January 23 FEBRUARY 01 Family Fun Night Family Fun Night returns this winter to again take over the 8th Floor. There will be fun activities for kids of all ages. Whether you are joining for just the activities or having dinner, too, there's plenty of fun to be had. We love our dogs, but sometimes what they do can be a total mystery to us. Linda McVay, certified trainer and owner of University Canine Learning Academy, will unravel some of the mysteries of why dogs do what they do and discuss some strategies to help them be the best family dog they can be—and us the best owners we can be. Whether you have a puppy, teenager, or aging furry friend, you'll enjoy learning about what's up with that dog! Sorry, this evening is just for humans. Includes beverages and appetizers.
