"We have almost everything you need to host your special day. All you really need to bring is yourself !" WAC wedding wonder With more than 200 guests at their wedding, Julia and Greg wanted to find somewhere that could not only accom- modate their friends and family but that would also give guests immediate access to the heart of Seattle. e WAC delivered. "We wanted our out-of-state guests to be able to explore the city we love with ease," Julia says. "Everyone who stayed at the Inn at the WAC loved that they could walk to Pike Place Market, the waterfront, and so many good downtown restaurants." Julia and her sister also took advan- tage of the Club, waking early on wed- ding day and watching the morning light brighten over the city before hosting the bridal party for makeup, mimosas, and a catered breakfast on the balcony of the Elliott Bay Suite. Greg, meanwhile, found his own way to unwind. "I couldn't sleep that morn- ing," he recalls. "My best man, some of my groomsmen, and I went to the men's locker room and relaxed in the warmth of the sauna." And so the day began. Being the bride Aer donning her dress, Julia stepped onto the 10th Floor balcony, replete with Puget Sound views. Joining her on the balmy July morning were Greg and their large wedding party. "Everyone we love was there," Julia says. "e balcony is so secluded. It was the perfect moment." Following a series of quintessential Seattle photos in Occidental Square, it was time to return to the Club. Upon arriving, the groomsmen retreated to Hagerty's for a cocktail while Julia enjoyed pre-ceremony downtime. As guests gathered in the Noble Room for the ceremony, Greg prepared himself by consulting man's best friend—his yellow lab. "I really wanted my dog to walk me down the aisle." Greg says. "It was great of the WAC to allow for that to happen." Leash in hand, Greg made it to the altar, where he was joined by Julia and his youth pastor who officiated the wedding. Vows were exchanged. "I do" was said. e wedding license was signed. And the event was sealed with a champagne toast. Julia and Greg celebrated with cocktails by the Chihuly Alcove in the Johnson Lobby Lounge before overseeing the party—dinner, dancing, and plenty more toasts—in the Crystal Ballroom. "We have so many special memories here," Julia says. "Getting married at the WAC just adds to the list.
