Jeff & Spencer Hawes
Jeff and Spencer Hawes are familiar
faces around the 8th Floor. It's a
Saturday morning and burgeoning
basketball players learning the
sport swarm the court. It seems like
everyone there recognizes the larger-
than-life pair, with kids coming up to
Spencer and fellow players chatting
with Jeff. Both father and son played
for the University of Washington,
and Spencer played in the NBA from
2007–2019. At the WAC, Jeff won
NACAD championships in 1990,
2002, 2006, 2007, 2013, and 2014.
Spencer claimed his own NACAD
title with the Open Division team
in 2023. "WAC hoops is a tight-knit
collection of basketball junkies who
gather season aer season to play the
game they love," Jeff says. "Spencer
has been coming to the Club since he
was young. It's exciting that he now
plays in the league and joins in on
tournament trips."
Jeff & Spencer Hawes are
staples of the Seattle bas-
ketball scene, from days at
the University of Washington
to wins on the WAC court.
Together they hold seven
NACAD championships!
