Fighters from Air Force Academy, Cal, Michigan, and other colleges around the country descend on the 8th Floor Gym for two nights of competitive boxing, complete with lights, action, and ring announcer. Tickets to this nearly 30- year tradition are on sale now. "e Main Event attracts some of the best college boxers in the country," Athletic Programs Manager Darin Barr says. "It's a great opportunity to see amateur boxing at one of its high- est levels." e Main Event includes two fight nights, each sold separately, with unique bout cards featuring men and women boxers. Seats to this black-tie affair sell out annually. Both evenings begin with dinner and comedy in the Crystal Ballroom. is year's comedians are Brad Upton and Don Friesen. Aer the laughs, enjoy collegiate boxing at its finest, with about 10 bouts each night. "e dinner, comedy, and drinks are the ideal warmup before fight night," Darin says. "It's a complete evening of entertainment and showmanship."
