Celebrate 95 years at the Gatsby Gala in October A fete of finery for 95 Gatsby Gala to celebrate the Club's storied past and bright future is party is sure to be the bee's knees! It's 1930 all over again—the year the Washington Athletic Club opened its doors. To mark this momentous occa- sion, we're going way back to when rum-running and radio were in vogue. Celebrate 95 years of the Club on Friday, October 17, at the Gatsby Gala, benefiting the WAC Foundation. As F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote: You'll be "among the whisperings and the champagne and the stars." Join this themed celebration for an opportunity to support the WAC Foundation and the 6th Floor Pool, one of the Club's most historic spaces. e 25-yard natatorium, named aer WAC member and 1932 Olympian Helene Madison, has been home to swimmers of all skill levels and stripes. It's also hosted all manner of events, from still-pop- ular youth swim lessons to former favorites like apple bobbing and fishing derbies. Dress your Jazz Age–best for this fundraiser to benefit the WAC Foundation, our nonprofit with the sole purpose of preserving and enhancing the WAC Clubhouse, listed on the National Register of His- toric Places.
