Lasting legacy As we gather to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Crystal Ballroom, we reflect on the rich history and enduring legacy of the Washington Athletic Club. Since its opening in 1930, the WAC has been a cornerstone of Seattle's architectural and social landscape. The WAC Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is dedicated to preserving and enhancing our historic Clubhouse, proudly listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Every dollar raised by the Foundation is directly invested in preservation, restoration, and enhancement efforts, ensuring that our iconic building remains a vibrant part of our community for generations to come.
