JANUARY / FEBRUARY / MARCH 2022 31 club life reciprocal club No, not that London New reciprocal club takes us to southern Ontario By Amanda Brynn, Director Member Services & Club Programs It's not uncommon for private city clubs to reach out to the WAC in hopes of establishing a reciprocal partnership. e opportunity to offer their members a 5 Star Platinum Club experience in the heart of downtown Seattle is extremely attractive. When considering reciprocal partnerships, we look at each club and what it offers WAC members in return. Our most recent partnership is a perfect example. e London Club—not to be confused with the capital of England—is located in southern Ontario just north of Lake Erie. It would be silly to say that London, Ontario, wasn't inspired by London, England. Aer all, the Ontario version is also brimming with art exhibits, food and music festivals, and an abundance of museums. Not only that, but it's home to spectacular parks, notably Victoria Park (just like the one in London, England) and Gibbons Park along the bank of the ames River (not to be confused with the River ames in ... well, you know). e London Club, established in 1880, is renowned for its exquisite dining opportunities and lavish workspaces. It's located in a beautiful gabled Victorian and surrounded by many of the city's most popular sights. e next time work or play takes you to the area—Toronto and Detroit are both just a little over two hours away—consider a side trip to this great new reciprocal club. To visit a club, members must request a letter of introduction. Log on to wac.net/loi.
