26 WAC Magazine | wac.net club life family matters Family Matters Ann Cassie Duong Andy Le Olivia, age 3 Cassie and Andy first met during their youth while growing up outside Seattle. Aer reuniting and falling in love in New York over seven years ago, they decided to return to their hometown in 2015 and joined the WAC soon aer. Cassie became a fast fan of club events and helped plan many of them while volun- teering on the Family Activities Committee. Olivia has taken a liking to club events, as well, including the Mother Daughter Tea. "We enjoy dressing up and hanging out with some of our favorite people," says Cassie, who also invited her mom to the 2019 Mother Daughter event, making it a three-generation affair. Andy, meanwhile, is an avid basketball player and can oen be found in the 8th Floor gym playing pick-up games or in the WAC's basketball league. "As an avid basketball player, I was drawn to the WAC for its basketball community," he says. Andy and Cassie are expecting another child in May and look forward to introducing their new family member to the Club. Brianna McDonald Nathan McDonald Evan, age 13; Wyatt, age 11; Analeigh, age 7 In 2014, a friend invited Brianna and Nathan McDonald to Jubilee, the WAC's annual anniversary party. From there, the rest is history. e McDonalds joined the WAC the following year and have since enjoyed almost every aspect of the Club. "We were excited to be a part of the Club, have a place to work out, utilize childcare, and have access to fun social events," Brianna says. Evan, Wyatt, and Analeigh have a blast shooting hoops on the 8th Floor. "We love coming in for a fun, safe place to move our bodies during the winter months," Brianna says. e kids also love getting their photo taken with Santa every year, and the whole family enjoys game days at Hagerty's when they can't make it to Lumen Field or Husky Stadium. As business owners, Brianna and Nathan also use the Clubhouse for professional events, and when they travel they oen stay at reciprocal clubs. "e WAC is our home away from home," Brianna says. "And Jubilee is still our favorite event."
