The WAC Swim School • Junior & Family Programs Fall Session II: November 2–December 14 Registration began Monday, October 21 All classes take place Saturdays, 8:30 am–12 pm Register Online: wac.net/swim-lessons Weekly sessions available: $70/first child, $55/second child Swim Lessons Tiny Tots (Ages 6 months–3 years) Children learn water adjustment, play games, and sing songs. Parents learn elements of water safety and the swimming progressions to help their children become lifelong swimmers. An adult must accompany each child in the water. u Saturdays: 10:15 am & 10:50 am (30 minutes) Preschool (Ages 3–5) All lessons are 30 minutes. Preschool 1: For brand-new swimmers! This class helps kids become comfortable in the water. All skills are performed with a teacher. Preschool 2: Develop comfort in the water. Learn breath control and swimming on front and back with assistance. Preschool 3: Swimming three yards on front and back. Good breath control. Establishing foundations for freestyle and elementary backstroke. Preschool 4: Swimming seven yards on front and back. Comfort in deep water. Technical foundations for breaststroke, freestyle, and elementary backstroke. Youth (Ages 6+) Lessons for Levels 1–3 are 30 minutes. Lessons for Levels 4–6 are 40 minutes. Level 1: Beginners or those learning comfort in the water. Learn floats and how to swim on front and back. Level 2: Swimming five yards on front and back. Good breath control. Establishing foundations for freestyle and backstroke. Level 3: Swimming 10 yards freestyle. Comfort in deep water. Technical foundations for breaststroke, freestyle and backstroke. Level 4: Swimming 15 yards freestyle with side breathing. Endurance to swim the length of the pool on front and back. Developing technique for breaststroke and butterfly. Level 5: Swimming all four strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly) 25 yards, refining coordination. Fundamental understanding of stroke mechanics. Foundations Approaching Swim Team (FAST): Focuses on building endurance and race technique in free- style, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. This class pre- pares swimmers for Pre-Competitive and Juniors Swim Team. The WAC Swim School Private Swim Lessons Available to members of all ages and abilities.
