To set a goal or satisfy an ambition to have a positive direction, to build a purposeful inertia and improve. We do it in our personal lives, and we look for it in our professional lives and companies and businesses and, yes, private clubs. It is one of the WAC's guiding forces—constantly looking for ways to get better. To improve requires change. We can implement best practices from others. We can learn so much from the world and apply it to our own interests, read what the experts have to say, be listeners and observers, and assimilate lessons learned. Or we can make up our own stuff! We can create, invent, pioneer, and tinker. We can fail and succeed and ultimately figure out what works and what doesn't. In the process, we improve on what is but also develop and introduce something new, distinct and exciting. Isn't that the fun part? And aren't we impressed with people who can and do innovate? Sometimes innovation changes the world. Sometimes it's just fun. Either way, we all benefit from it and are thrilled it is happening. We love to highlight our wonderful members and the contributions they make to our community. So allow this issue of WAC Magazine to celebrate innovation and our own innovators!
