Super-versatile and super-functional, resistance bands belong in the corner of every suitcase. ey're the best portable strength-training system out there. I call them my "anywhere and everywhere" exercise machine. Anchor one end of a band under your foot or on a piece of furniture and mimic the same exercises you would perform with dumbbells, cables or kettlebells. 3. Take your trainer with you (in spirit). Our personal training team can create customized workouts for clients when they travel. Perhaps the biggest key to working out while traveling is making a plan ahead of time. Once you've set the intention and know your trainer is going to ask you about it when you return, you're much more likely to trade room service for the hotel fitness center. By making a plan and knowing how to improvise, you can keep your fitness routine intact on the road and return to the gym ready to take the next step in your most important journey of all— the one to personal wellness. Athletics Open House On the road again By Maureen Eggers, Women's & Coed Fitness Manager Sticking to a workout routine can be challenging enough when you're home. For anyone who travels, the obstacles really start to add up. Finding a convenient fitness facility, not to mention time to actually work out, can sabotage your motivation and dedication. Add in some high-calorie restaurant meals and a lack of sleep and … well, you get the idea. Fortunately, there are options for tight spaces and tighter schedules while traveling! e following tips can keep you feeling fit no matter where work or personal travel takes you. 1. Embrace body-weight exercises. e sky's the limit when it comes to exercise options that use gravity and your own mass to create resistance. Push-ups, mountain climbers, planks, and burpees top my personal list.
