WAC members enjoyed a tour of the Conibear Shellhouse, home of the University of Washington rowing team as well as im-
portant artifacts from the 1936 Berlin Olympics, setting for the hit nonfiction book The Boys in the Boat. Members then made
their way to a World War I airplane hangar that members of the 1936 gold-medal team from the University of Washington used
as their home base. The old shellhouse was also the workspace of famed shell designer George Pocock. The event offered an
inspiring walk through Seattle history.
