Written by Naomi Thalenberg | Photography by Barbara Kinney SOCIAL TIES COME TOGETHER AT THE WAC { M E M B E R T O M E M B E R } N ina Feldman grew up with the WAC. Now 26, she holds fond memories of coming downtown with her family, attending the annual Father Daughter Banquet, and spending time at the Club. "It's always been a part of my life," Nina says. Nina moved back to Seattle after college in 2010 and started looking for a way to reconnect with the community and meet new friends. That's when she decided to join the WAC as a young adult. Nina works nearby, in the digital advertising department of Seattle Met magazine. She visits the Club frequently for after- hours workouts and social get-togethers at Torchy's and Hagerty's. "Being a member has led me to a more active lifestyle," Nina says. "I've met so many great friends here, and we all use the Club as a rendezvous point." She says the WAC has become a bigger part of her life than she expected. She also recently enjoyed a reciprocal club visit to The University Club of Washington D.C. while visiting college friends from The George Washington University. In March of 2012, Nina met Matthew Ennis. She had a feeling Matthew would like the Club and took him on a tour. "There are so many aspects of the WAC I find valuable," Nina says. "I love the atmosphere, and the staff members are so nice. I knew Matthew would fit right in." { NINA FELDMAN } Member since 2012 16 | Washington Athletic Club Magazine | JUNE / JULY 2014
