{ MATTHEW ENNIS } Member since 2012 M atthew Ennis grew up in Tacoma. His grandfather was a WAC member, and he recalls coming to the Club for Thanksgiving dinners with his family when he was a child. After finishing law school, Matthew returned to Seattle and is now a trial attorney at Hager & Ennis. Matthew, 32, quickly immersed himself in WAC culture. He joined the basketball league and the 20s/30s Committee. He says he has made many new friends at WAC events, including Oktoberfest, Tubing & Brews, and a recent Dive Bar Tour. Matthew also joined the WAC's soccer league. "When I first joined the Club, I'd go straight to the gym with my headphones plugged in," he says. "Now, it's impossible to not run into people I know and chat. It's great not being a stranger anymore." Matthew also enjoys watching sports in Hagerty's and occasionally doing some work in the Johnson Lobby Lounge. Nina says that although she's been a member for slightly longer than Matthew, he has ended up introducing her to many of their current friends. "He's very proactive and social," Nina says. The two often meet after their workouts to grab a snack in the Sports Café. "The Club has become much more than a just place I come for a workout," Matthew says. "The social activities are a lot of fun." IF YOU HAVE FRIENDS, FAMILY OR COLLEAGUES YOU FEEL WOULD BENEFIT FROM WAC MEMBERSHIP, please contact Member Services at 206.464.3068 or membership@wac.net to arrange a tour.
