Family basketball champs | Meet the Athlete | Instructor Insights 20 WAC Magazine | wac.net Family basketball champs Instructor Insights Meet the Athlete E M I L I O H U E R TA S ( 2 ) e WAC's basketball league has been around for decades, so it's no surprise there are a few father-son pairs out there who have both competed for the Club. ese dads passed not only their hoop dreams to their sons but also the competitive nature that makes WAC teams some of the winningest in the private club circuit. We recently caught up with some of these dribbling duos. All six of these players are proud North American Association of Club Athletic Directors (NACAD) tourna- ment winners. ey've also participated in the Pacific Coast Athletic Clubs (PCAC) tournament, which the WAC is hosting alongside the Bellevue Club this spring, March 13–14! Living Fit Like father, like son These WAC members share a familial love for basketball— and winning Dads Bob Farra (this page) and Brian McManus (opposite) each made WAC basketball part of their young sons' lives. Days on the court inspired Charlie Farra (this page) and Ian McManus (opposite) to play for the WAC, too. All four WAC members are proud NACAD winners along with Jeff and Spencer Hawes (pictured on page 22).
