SUMMER / FALL 2024 35 Morris Trophy Awards return to the Crystal Ballroom for their 44th year, honoring Washington's Troy Fautanu and UCLA's Laiatu Latu. e Club's first-ever "WAC Underground" party debuts in the WAC Garage as a smash-hit to partygoers. WAC Handball Classic returns to the Club for its 39th year. Rena Wong joins the WAC Executive Team as Chief Financial Officer. The 2023–2024 WAC fiscal year delivered 12 months of memories, from the widely anticipated premiere of The Boys in the Boat to the unveiling of the WAC Foundation donor wall. Our Spring Open House filled the lobby with members and guests, and Seattle's mayor spoke at a special meeting of Women of the WAC. Festive gatherings, heartfelt celebrations, nonprofit partnerships, athletic achievements, and Club traditions created another year for the books. NOVEMBER DECEMBER JANUARY Father Son Dinner takes to the Pickleball courts. Families celebrate at the annual anksgiving Buffet in the Crystal Ballroom. Friends & Family Open House offers the opportunity for members to introduce their favorite people to the Club with a tour and complimentary wine pours. e movie adaptation of "e Boys in the Boat," a best-selling nonfiction novel about the legendary 1936 U.S. Olympic Rowing Team from the University of Washington, debuts. e WAC played an integral role in helping the crew make the Games. e WAC also organized an exclusive movie premiere for members. Jubilee 93! e Club celebrates its 93rd anniversary at a party with artistic flair. Members and guests enjoy Victorian Christmas dinner at the Club, complete with songs from the Dickens Carolers. e WAC rings in 2024 in style with a pair of New Year's Eve parties—one for families and one for adults.
