Join fellow WAC teens and help pack meals at Food Lifeline. This is a great way to earn volunteer hours, support your community, and create lasting change. Well, that sounds like an unlikely pairing. Discover this unusual and heart- felt exploration of friendship with June's Book Club pick, "Remarkably Bright Creatures" by Shelby Van Pelt. Monday; 5–6:30 pm; complimentary. Taste of Vashon JUNE 30 Take a short but scenic ferry ride to Vashon for island- grown cider, wine tasting, and a delicious meal. Volunteer with facility maintenance at Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center. You'll earn hours and maybe even get to meet one of the Center's very special horses. Art in Seattle Public Places Walking Tour JULY 11 Take in Seattle's art scene during a walking tour led by James Rupp, author of "Art in Seattle's Public Spaces: From SoDo to South Lake Union." We'll begin at the Museum of History & Industry before embarking on a guided walk around South Lake Union to see great public art displays. Space is limited. Thursday; 6 pm; member $30/ guest $36; cancel by July 3. Outdoor Adventure Club: Paddleboarding JULY 14 Join fellow WAC adventurers for a day of fun in the sun paddleboarding at Juanita Beach Park. We're seeking enthusiastic and responsible high school students to serve as summer camp counselors. Each camp lasts for four days and offers counselors the opportunity to grow their team-building skills, make an impact on young campers, and engage in exciting activities around Seattle and the WAC. Counselors can also earn volunteer hours and recommendation letters. Camps are Monday– Thursday, 9 am–4 pm. Lunch included.
