The Hard Nut
Paramount Theatre
The Hard Nut is a gender-bent love letter to the The
Nutcracker. Mark Morris' version takes the holiday classic to
the swinging 1970s, with raucous parties, dancing G.I. Joes,
whimsical costumes, and a Waltz of the Snowflakes like no
other. Based on Charles Burns' comic-book art and featuring
Tchaikovsky's complete original score, Morris' lyrical and
modern retelling playfully preserves the warm spirit of an
essential holiday tradition.
X Saturday, December 7; 2 pm; $91
Thursday, December 12; 7:30 pm; $86
