NOVEMBER / DECEMBER 2019 49 club programs events 17 Italian Renaissance Masterpieces at SAM N Seattle Art Museum's special exhibit, Flesh and Blood, offers a rare opportunity to view unforgettable works from the esteemed Capodimonte Museum in Naples, Italy. Works from renowned Renaissance artists such as Titian, El Greco, and Raphael join Baroque masters Gentileschi, Bernardo Cavallino, and others in a show that reveals the love, devotion, physical labor, and tragic suffering expressed by the human body. Focusing on themes of Christian martyrdom and mythical passion, this exhibit showcases the fierce and intense beauty of 16th- and 17th-century Italian art. Private one-hour docent tour preceded by optional no-host lunch in TASTE. After the tour, the entire museum is yours to explore. The WAC is taking over Central Cinema for a WAC-only movie night. This 21-plus evening kicks off with appetizers and cocktails before heading to the theater to watch a movie the Hollywood way—on the big screen, with big sound, in a room full of people having a good time. Arrive ready to sit back, relax and enjoy the show. The featured film will be revealed at wac.net/ movie-night. Join WAC engineer Bill Rawe for a detailed tour of all the places you've wondered about. We'll travel from the Top of the WAC to the sub-basement, discovering back staircases, a wine cellar, chiller room, kennels, and more along the way. Oh, the stories Bill can tell!
