12 WAC Magazine | wac.net Member Erica Legaspi heads to international stage Rugby player Erica Legaspi was recently recruited by the Philippine national team to play rugby 7s at December's Southeast Asian Games. e daughter of Filipino immigrants, Erica is a dual citizen of the Philippines and the United States. She will travel to Manila in late November and participate in an 11-day WAC member Conner Pierce was named to the 60-athlete USA Paralympic Team for the Para Pan Am Games in Lima, Peru, this past August. Conner, who has cere- bral palsy and competes in track in the "ambulatory" division, raced in the 100-meter dash, finishing third in his first heat and seventh in the finals. His first experience on the international stage comes on the heels of his victory in Arizona's Desert Chal- lenge Games, where he won the 100 and placed second in the 200. A sophomore at the University of British Columbia, Conner studies kinesiology and competes on the track team.
