E M I L I O H U E R TA S E M I L I O H U E R TA S J O H N B A N G JULY/ AUGUST 2019 25 I like to rent kayaks on Lake Union after work, visit neighborhood street fairs, hike along the I-90 corridor, and enjoy the sunset at rooftop parties! My favorite summer WAC event is Dock Night!" —Allison Peryea When the snow melts and the days get warm, Vicki and I put away our skis and get out the bikes. We enjoy quiet country roads and the fantastic mountain bike trail systems across our beautiful state. We also hike a lot. It's so easy when you live so close to the Cascades. It is a beautiful life." —Dave Carlson Warm sunny days and live music with friends are a match made in heaven. ZooTunes at Woodland Park Zoo, a show at Chateau Ste. Michelle, or even a trip to the Gorge Amphitheatre." —Tom Osmon SOME OF MY FAVORITE THINGS INCLUDE CRAB FEAST AT THE WAC (HELD EVERY JUNE), TAKING MY GRANDDAUGHTERS TO THE BEACH AT CARKEEK PARK, AND WATCHING THE BLUE ANGELS FROM LAKE WASHINGTON." —Karen Coe MY FAVORITE PART OF SUMMER IS WELCOMING FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO SEATTLE. I KEEP A VISITORS' BAG FILLED WITH MAPS AND GUIDES. EVERYONE LOVES PIKE PLACE MARKET, AND YOUNGSTERS LOVE THE SEATTLE CHILDREN'S MUSEUM. BUT SEATTLE IS FILLED WITH LOCAL TREASURES, MANY OF WHICH I LEARN ABOUT DURING TOURS WITH THE WAC." —Gale Barre I love boating on Lake Washington and learning to wakesurf! I also enjoy watching the Tuesday night Duck Dodge sailboat races on Lake Union with f riends and exploring the San Juan Islands." —Natalie Heard
