WARM UP WITH A CHERRY TODDY
By Peter Christian, Vice President Food & Beverage
The word "toddy" comes from the toddy drink in India,
produced by fermenting the sap of palm trees. Its earliest
known use to mean "a beverage made of alcoholic liquor
with hot water, sugar, and spices" dates to 1786.
Recently at the WAC, we added the Solar Cherry Toddy
to our drink menus. This twist on the cold-weather classic
uses cherry brandy by Solar Spirits of Richland and Maras-
ka Maraschino liqueur from Croatia. These two wonderful
liquors combine with lemon, orange, honey, and a sprinkle
of allspice to deliver a perfect treat on a chilly evening—
whether it's winter or spring!
