6 WAC Magazine | wac.net from the Chairman and President & CEO The fun just keeps coming Spring is a time of new life and beginnings with everything blooming. Spring is also the time of year when your Board of Governors and member leaders work on our Five-Year Strategic Plan, approved at the March board meeting, and 2018–2019 Oper- ating Plan & Budget, which will be approved at the May board meeting. My time serving on the Board and various Club committees has been a stimulat- ing and rewarding experience. I have developed long-term relationships with fellow members and the WAC team, tops in the club business. We are now forming committees for next year. I encourage you to seek out rewarding leadership opportunities. Contact me if you have questions about how to start. Spring and summer are also the time to play and have fun! e WAC offers a broad range of activities, from the arts to athletics with so much more in between. No matter your age, the Club has fun planned for you, and this issue of WAC Magazine is your go-to guide. I recently connected with fellow WAC members at Bar Tour VI, and what fun we had! Aerward, I stayed at the Inn at the WAC, which is always a pleasure. I also enjoyed WAC tickets to Hamilton and attended the Taste Washington Winemaker Dinner as well as Tiki Tuesday at Hula Hula on Capitol Hill. Finally, I wrapped up April by joining the weekend trip to Vancouver, British Columbia, including a visit to the Vancouver Club, a WAC reciprocal club. Another exciting change for spring—new menus in Torchy's and Hagerty's. May and June are Seafood Months at the WAC, and you're going to love the food. Hope to see you soon!
