All you goblins, ghouls, superheroes and even you rainbow unicorns get ready for fun, adventure and Halloween celebration in the Crystal Ballroom. Filled with festive frills and family-friendly activities good for children of all ages, parents and grandparents, this will be a delightfully fun afternoon featuring Count WACula and the rest of the gang. Grab your alter ego and strut your stuff on the costume catwalk. Munchies, drinks and lots of fun and activities included. 11am–12:30 pm; $22 per child, accompanying adults complimentary; cancel by October 19 435 acres of free-range meadows, woods and lakes filled with wildlife native to the Pacific Northwest. A knowledgeable and friendly naturalist narrates the tour with fun animal facts and interesting stories about the park. Next, lunch on your own at the Forest Café, a casual eatery offering burgers, salads, sandwiches and kids meals with healthy options at reasonable prices. Then explore more of the park with a self- guided walking tour of the animal exhibits, much like a conventional zoo, where you'll see species including the American black bear, bald eagle, bobcat, gray wolf, red fox, skunk, beaver and many more. Besides ani- mals, there are also enjoyable nature trails with labeled identification of native plant life. The park also has an interactive dis- covery center, a replica of an old trapper's cabin, a theater with a video presentation on the history of the park, and a gift shop. Scheduled animal encounters with keepers also allow you to get up-close and personal with select animals. Produced by the popular Market Ghost Tours, this adult- themed event recaps Seattle's risqué past, sharing the secrets of First Avenue and why it was once nicknamed "Flesh Avenue." During this 75-minute walking tour, your guide will entertain and expose you to Seattle's lustier side, making Flesh Avenue come to life in true tales of madams, serial killers and 24-hour grindhouses. Learn about the rise of adult entertainment, the sexual revolution, how sexuality defined our city through wealth and corruption, the political movements of the 1970s, and what led to the eventual changes that transformed First Avenue into what it is today. Seattle will appear entirely different after taking this tour. She dropped a tea light into a handmade colorful glass cup and found great hope and healing in the sooth- ing light.
