Charles Knutson is well-versed about these issues. As senior vice president of opera- tions and policy development for the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce he has advocated for many improvements in this region and through- out our state and will shed light on new transportation investments and projects on the horizon. One recent example is the Smarter Highways project, which includes the nifty new signage you see on I-5, I-90 and state Route 520. Those signs offer travel-time estimates, notices of traffic con- gestion, accident information and much more. Learn about new initiatives and plans with time for your transportation questions at this enlightening WAC program. A light dinner buffet will be available from 6:30–7 pm, prior to the program. No-host beer and wine also will be available. 6:30–8 pm; $42; cancel by September 12 WAC Link Quarterly Wednesday, October 3 NEW Link Up! WAC members agree that WAC Link is the place for person-to-person, business-to- business, interest-to-interest connections. This informal quarterly mixer is fast-paced and focused on linking you to a roomful of members and the WAC. It's easy, non- threatening and fun. Here's how it works: PreLink starts at 6 pm and gives everyone a chance to arrive, grab a beverage, enjoy appetizers, and be ready at 6:30 pm for SpeedLink. During SpeedLink, you'll meet 15 different people in three-minute link- ups to talk about whatever you want. Everyone gets the same starter question, and you take the conversation from there. After SpeedLink, there is an all-play group activity before last call. Experience WAC Link Quarterly in a different venue each time. The Top of the WAC plays host for October's event. Join us on the 21st floor for an evening of appetizers, socializing and networking. No reservations necessary. Just drop in. To receive WAC Link updates and reminders, email clubprograms@wac.net and type "Link List" in the subject line. Event includes complimentary appetizers and no-host bar. 6-8 pm wac ™
