Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive a two-year certification. Coursework includes adult, child and infant CPR. Choose from one of two classes. Meet fellow athletes and enjoy featured speakers. This social's topic is swimming around the globe. Speakers will highlight international swims, and discuss which one is best for you, and address how to prepare. This event is free to WAC members and their guests. For more information, see page 61. Thursday, October 27: 6–8 pm Turkey Burn Burn those calories! Join your favorite instructors on Thanksgiving morning for an intense calorie-burn featuring boot camp, spin, Zumba, dance cardio, and yoga flow. Turkey Trot November 1–November 20 Win your Thanksgiving Day turkey at the annual Turkey Trot in the Helene Madison Swimming Pool. It's all luck! Draw a number before your workouts during November and then swim the corresponding number of laps. The top five members win a Thanksgiving turkey, compliments of the WAC. Registration is free. Sign up with a lifeguard on the pool deck. Beat Box Train like the pros with our elite coaches. Class includes work with heavy bags and focus mitts as well as light sparring and jump rope exercise. Gloves available or bring your own. Tuesdays/ Thursdays: 12–1 pm Saturdays: 3:30–4:30 pm Sundays: 3:30–4:30 pm Blitz Short on time but big on fitness results! High-efficiency workouts keep your workouts fresh and on target. Instructors will focus 25 minutes on one of our many formats (strength, plyometrics, cardio, core, suspension).
