A s our fiscal year comes to an end, I'm pleased to provide some insight into our membership trends—evolutions you may have already observed as you use the Club. At press time, we had achieved our annual minimum new member goal of 625 one month ahead of schedule! We predict that we will end the 2014–2015 fiscal year with 665 new members. You might be interested to know that growth in the Resident Young Adult category outpaced other categories this year for the sixth year in a row. Clearly, the migration of young adults from all over the country to this hub of high-tech jobs, paired with Seattle's breathtaking beauty and outdoor pursuits, is helping drive this phenomenon. The WAC's 20s/30s Club is thriving; young professionals' groups from prominent local companies are making the WAC their central gathering place; and our dodgeball competitions are becoming the stuff of legend in the local business community. The growth in the Resident Young Adult category is certainly driving the demand for mobile access and conveniences. Our migration to digital communications and forms, online reservations, and a new and improved wac.net are well under way. We anticipate a steady rollout of digital conveniences throughout the new fiscal year. Our Individual and Family categories are extremely important to the Club's well-being, and this year we look to continue our commitment to enhancing opportunities for professional connection and for connecting as a family unit. We realize that many of our Resident Individual members migrate to Family memberships as time goes on, and we want to make sure that the Club supports your needs through all stages of life. If you haven't had a chance to experience WAC Link, play in the basketball league, or attend a Women of the WAC event, now is the time. These gatherings provide an opportunity for organic connections—networking that doesn't feel like networking. More important, genuine friendships and mentor relationships take seed at these and a host of other WAC events. ALL-STAR PROGRAM The inaugural year of our WAC Membership All-Star program has been successful from a perspective of culture shift and member engagement. To date, 20 members have sponsored three or more new members to become eligible for Membership All-Star status, $500 WACash, recognition in WAC Magazine, and our grand prize giveaway trip to Los Angeles (see page 24 for more details). Another two dozen members are on the verge of becoming Membership All-Stars, and 197 more sponsored at least one new member this fiscal year. That is not only impressive, but it's also essential to the growth and stability of our club! Look for the official results of this year's Membership All-Star campaign in the September/October issue of WAC Magazine, and start to imagine how you can gain this prestigious honor in the coming year. The Club simply cannot make its membership goals without you. EVEN MORE MEMBER VALUE We know WAC members lead busy lives and have many interests and pursuits, so it's important for us to always be thinking of how we can augment your membership value. With this in mind, the WAC is pleased to announce two new partnerships within our Seattle private club community, offered exclusively to WAC members. • INGLEWOOD GOLF CLUB WAC members now have limited weekly access to golf at Inglewood Golf Club as well as unlimited access to their dining facilities. Please contact Member Services at 206.464.3068 or membership@wac.net and we will be happy to facilitate your visit to this wonderful golf club on the north end of Lake Washington. • COLLEGE CLUB OF SEATTLE WAC members may also enhance their WAC membership with a three-month membership to the College Club of Seattle, located on Lake Union. Ultra- convenient access to rowing, kayaking, and paddleboarding in the city are now yours. Given the WAC's rich rowing history, this partnership has some historical pride attached. We wish you a wonderful WAC membership year! Please remember that we are here for you. Don't hesitate to let us know how we may assist, explain, or serve your membership needs. More new members … and counting Members sponsoring members is the key ingredient to the long-term health of the Club By Michelle Pinson, VP Membership & Marketing [ mpinson@wac.net ] "e growth in the Resident Young Adult category is driving the demand for mobile access and conveniences.
