Letter from the President & CEO Chuck Nelson, President & Chief Executive Officer / cnelson@wac.net / @cnhuskies13 I t's hard to enter the summer months and not feel good. The inherent warming weather, longer days, and the opportunities for more and varied activities bring a sense of a relaxed youthfulness and optimism and provide great energy. The Seattle-area presents so many paths to enjoyment, from neighborhood events to grand regional spectacles such as Seafair and the Boeing Classic. As an 85-year-old institution and a leader in the community, the WAC and its members are proud to partner and participate in summer in Seattle and all the goodness that it brings. "Fresh" is the word in our Food & Beverage department. Coming out of a deli- cious—and delightfully messy—Barbecue Month, we now roll into Seafood Month. There is no better spot in the world to enjoy quality sustainable seafood than Seattle, and no better place than at your club with Chef Eric and team doing all the work! Summer also includes the end of the WAC fiscal and governance year, wrapping up July 31. And with that brings a close to the tenure of Kip Spencer as Chairman of your Board of Governors. I would like to thank Kip both professionally and per- sonally for his strong leadership and mentorship of the WAC. The time commitment of the role requires great passion and staying power, and Kip provided both. The Club is better because Kip Spencer took on the job. Thank you, Kip. If you have an interest in getting more involved in the Club by participating on a WAC committee—either on the governance or the Club Programs side—please let us know. The WAC is committed to pushing forward and getting better every day in every way. And finally, a reminder that the value of your membership is directly related to you taking advantage of the wonderful things that happen at the WAC. You are a member of one of America's best clubs in one of America's best cities. Make the most of it! It is membership growth and member usage that drives the Club. As members use the Club more and more, and introduce their friends and colleagues to the WAC experience, the Club can grow and build and evolve in all the ways that we all want it to. Be great today and better tomorrow! Summer, Seafood, and Club success
