Box 1709 Seattle, WA 98111-1709 WAC and Washington Athletic Club are registered trademarks of the Washington Athletic Club. Letter from the President & CEO Chuck Nelson, President & Chief Executive Officer / cnelson@wac.net M ilestones are important. They provide a wonderful opportunity to look back and to celebrate and commit to a powerful and evolutionary future. As the Washington Athletic Club begins its 85th year, the Club can be proud of its historic role in serving the membership and the community of Seattle and the region. The WAC has truly been a Clubhouse at the center of it all, providing services and amenities and programs, and also serving as a gathering place and crossroads for the community and its leaders. The Club is all about creating memorable experiences, and we've been doing just that from the corner of Sixth and Union since 1930. From traditional WAC family events and Jubilee to the crazy idea of bringing the world to town for the 1962 World's Fair, we've been all in for 85 years and we're staying that way. The Club fosters an environment of community and conviviality, of sharing and lifting up, of bringing people together to think big and do great things. There are even better things yet to come. The WAC is just getting started! Certainly athletics have always been at the core of the WAC experience. With five floors of the building committed to fitness, wellness and health—and more than 100 fitness classes in 35 disciplines offered each week—there is much from which to choose. We also have world-class personal trainers and instructors; multiple individual-sport and team opportunities; and distinct facilities for men and women as well as coed areas. More than half of our resident members are all in with Fitness Advantage, gaining the full benefit of WAC membership. Since the start of 2015, we've offered even more ways to package your fitness membership (see page 51 for details). We are committed to providing a great athletic experience for our members, and we look forward to continuing the evolution of Club activities and facilities to meet your needs. I also want to take a minute to say thank you to the member leaders highlighted in this issue of WAC Magazine. The governance structure of the Club has been a historical strength, providing guidance and wisdom that continually push us to be honored as among the nation's best private clubs. Enjoy the Club. Use it, live it, participate in it. The back half of this magazine is full of opportunities to make your life better—packed with fun and fitness and unique member experiences. We're here for you. And we want you to be all in! 85 years and still all in
