Jody Bento, Seattle Art Museum's gallery manager, and Joanna Sikes, Chihuly marketing director and director of external affairs at the Museum of Glass, will be your docents. Bento's knowledge of Northwest art is remarkable. Sikes will discuss Chihuly's baskets and their significance in his career. The WAC collection includes Pacific Northwest greats Mark Tobey and Jacob Lawrence, as well as many newer artists. One of those is Seattle-based Kate Protage. Protage's paintings "Rhythm and Rush 1" and "Rhythm and Rush 2" evoke an impres- sionistic feeling of urban Seattle at night, with blurry streetlights and rainy wind- shields. The WAC is also fortunate to have Chihuly's "Orange and Blue Baskets" 83rd Annual Father Son Banquet "Bowling Bonanza" Friday, March 27 Bowling, America's leisure sport, is invading the 83rd Annual Father Son Banquet. When you think of bowling, you think shoes, lanes, pins, strikes, and even turkeys. This time, think entertainment, excitement, and the perfect place for some father-son bonding. The evening begins with a pizza party in the Crystal Ballroom. Enjoy a variety of delicious WAC-made pizza pies, Caesar salad, pasta salad, fresh fruit, and cheesy breadsticks served buffet-style. Dinner will be rounded out by the all-American classic, apple pie, and prizes—of course! After dinner, we'll hop aboard the most elegant of transportation (school buses) and journey north to Lynnwood Bowl & Skate for our private "Bowling Bonanza," exclusive to WAC fathers, sons, and event guests. Whether you're a competitive bowler or reliant on the bumpers, this evening of fun is perfect for all. Grab some shoes, pick a ball, and start rolling! Don't miss the 83rd Father Son Banquet. Reserve your spot early. 5:30 pm social and memory photos, 6 pm dinner, 7 pm bowling; $46 per person, $35 sons under 12; cancel by March 16 L U K E R U TA N 40 | Washington Athletic Club Magazine | FEBRUARY / MARCH 2015 CLUB PROGRAMS Adventures in entertainment
