Reciprocal Club Meadow Lark Country Club By Michelle Van Slack, Director Member Services Montana—the outdoor lover's paradise Enjoy a temperate climate and river views in Great Falls I f you are planning a trip to Montana (which I highly recom- mend), then you should make a stop in Great Falls—specifically the sprawling Meadow Lark Country Club, which turns 95 this year. Located at the confluence of the Missouri and Sun Rivers, Meadow Lark is home to golf, tennis, dining, fitness facilities, and an outdoor swimming pool. e 18-hole championship golf course meanders along the river's edge—creating an additional hazard to accompany the view. Prior to your first round, I recommend a visit to the spacious practice facility. It houses a driving range, putting green, chipping green, and practice bunker, as well as a three-hole short-game area for you to polish your skills. e club's swimming pool is the perfect venue for the whole family to take a dip during the summer. Temperatures in Great Falls average in the mid-70s and mid-80s in June and July, respectively. e pool has a shallow children's area, lanes for lap swim, and a diving board. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, the pool is open and bustling with a lifeguard on duty. Meadow Lark also has one of the finest tennis facilities in Montana, with three indoor tennis courts and four recently rebuilt outdoor courts. ere is an upstairs viewing area that overlooks the indoor courts. e Main Dining Room offers spectacular views of the Missouri River through an entire wall of full-length windows. If a pre-round or post-match casual bite sounds more appealing, the Grill Room is the place to be. e Meadow Lark Country Club and golf course are for members only, but your WAC letter of introduction will grant you access. MEADOW LARK COUNTRY CLUB Michelle Van Slack is Director Member Services. Send her feedback on your reciprocal club visits at mvanslack@wac.net.
