How you tease us. We know you can be spectacular when the sun is bright and your clear blue skies frame snow-capped mountains and Puget Sound. True, Seattle is one of the best places in the country during the summer—long sun-filled days with mild temperatures and too many outdoor activities to count. We earn the right to spend our summers outside after dodging raindrops for months. One of my favorite Seattle pastimes is a staple at the WAC and in the city—the annual Blue Angels air show. I first visited Seattle during Seafair. At the time, I had no knowledge of Seafair or its history, value and fun. All I knew is that a group of clowns came into a restaurant in Leschi and brought my then 1-year-old daughter to tears. Fortunately, she outgrew her fear of clowns, and we now enjoy all the fun that Seafair and the WAC offer during our city's wonderful summers. Yes, the Blue Angels are back (see page 14 for more on Seafair), and they will once again be staying at the Club, working out in our fitness areas, and inevitably cruising fast cars in and out of the WAC Garage. For me, one of the great honors of serving on the WAC Board of Governors is attending Breakfast & e Blues, meeting some of these world-class pilots, and learning about Seafair's efforts to support young women through scholarships. It just makes you feel good. It has also been a great honor to serve as WAC Chairwoman for the past year. I would like to close by thanking the Board for providing me with that honor and opportunity. Special thanks go to the Executive Committee for its guidance. Immediate Past Chairman Jeff Atkin and Chairman Elect Kip Spencer have been great partners throughout the year, and I value their advice and friendship. Most of all, I thank my children. ey mean everything to me, and I know they are proud. I hope to continue to meet more WAC members and keep running into those I already know. My picture might no longer be in the lobby, but I'll be as active as ever. I will, however, miss the parking space! ank you for the opportunity to be your Chairwoman. I wish you and your families the best. See you at the Club. A summer salute
