WINTER / SPRING 2026 35 JULIAN AVILA SOCCER M E M B E R S I N C E 2 0 2 3 Julian Avila attended a soccer training camp in the summer of 2015 in the hopes of getting seen by college coaches and scouts. His wish came true when Seattle University coach Nate Daligcon liked Julian's game. Four years playing for the Redhawks followed, and Julian met local players who eventually brought him to the WAC in 2023. "e chance to continue to be part of a team and work toward a goal aer graduating is great," he says. Julian played in the U.S. Open Cup against the Tacoma Defiance last year during the team's first-time historic appearance in that tournament. "at was a step up, playing against a pro team," he says. Success on the playing field is one of the most satisfying factors of playing for the WAC. "It's euphoric," Julian says. "I love winning. Men's lacrosse completes an undefeated regular season and wins its fifth straight Pacific Northwest Lacrosse League Championship. AUGUST Men's and women's rugby qualify for USA Club 7s Nationals.
