32 WAC Magazine | wac.net SHANNON READER BASKETBALL M E M B E R S I N C E 2 0 2 3 Shannon Reader came to WAC basketball by way of Gonzaga, where she played from 2008–2012. Aer college, she stayed in the student-athlete scene as an adviser, first for Gonzaga and then Stanford. She relocated to Seattle from the Bay Area in 2023. It was then that a former WAC member and fellow Gonzaga alum connected Shannon with the Club. "I've played a lot of high-level basket- ball," Shannon says. "is is the best I've played since college." For Shannon, the competition keeps her coming back, but it's also helped shi her perspective. "In college you let wins and losses dictate your day," she says. "I'm still super competitive, but it's all friendly and with a smile." e team practices on Sundays, usu- ally followed by a debrief in the sauna. During the season, Tuesday games are followed by drinks and basketball view- ing in Hagerty's. "Seattle is such a sports town," Shannon says.
