WAC wins 12th 5 Star Platinum Award For the 12th time in a row, the WAC was named among the top five athletic clubs in the country. e 2025–2026 award, an- nounced in late 2024 by Club Leaders Forum, is the highest honor bestowed on private clubs in North America. e awards are delivered every other year, and the WAC has earned 5 Star Plati- num status at every occurrence since the award's inception in 1997. "We are proud to be named a Plati- num Club and to be acknowledged by other clubs around the country as one of the nation's best," WAC President & CEO Chuck Nelson says. Platinum Clubs are rated based on their excellence in amenities, engage- ment of membership, universal recog- nition, caliber of staff and professional service levels, fiscal management, ability to adapt to changing times, and overall experience. Recognition is given to clubs that rank highly in all seven of these categories. "e criteria used for selecting top clubs covers everything a great club is about," Chuck says. "is award recog- nizes both staff and membership. We are all truly in this together and have earned the recognition together." Over 3,000 club general manag- ers and presidents from across the country vote on the Platinum awards. Congratulations to the members and team members of the Washington Athletic Club for earning this valuable achievement. The WAC observes Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents Day, and Memorial Day.
