Petty, McKean, and Medica competed in the 1936 Berlin Olympics, with McKean and Medica earning medals. Daughters coached the 1936 national women's swim team. Helene Madison (left) with Willemijntje den Ouden from the Netherlands and Eleanor Saville of the U.S. during the 1932 Olympic Games. Madison beat out the other two for gold in the 100-meter freestyle.
