For Sean, family means everything, and his plaque on the Foundation wall that proudly reads "e Banerjee Family" is a nod to his family's values and journey. Sean joined the WAC in 2011 aer relocating to Seattle two years earlier. Decades prior, his parents—dad Ajoy and mom Manjula—immigrated separately to the United States from India. Ajoy attend- ed graduate school in Massachusetts, and Manjula attended e University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. e couple later met in Houston and moved to Palo Alto before relocating to Federal Way in the late 1980s. Ajoy developed a prominent career in the technology sec- tor, and Manjula worked as an educator for the Federal Way School District. His parents' journey serves as a strong source of inspiration for Sean, who oen thinks of the lessons his parents taught him and the sacrifices they made to suc- ceed in the United States.
