MONTH / MONTH 2020 47 Peek inside WAC Golf Instructor Gilbert Quitlong's golf bag to find out what essentials he packs for a day on the course. Contact Gilbert at gquitlong@premiergc.com. WHAT'S IN YOUR BAG? Goods for the greens A must for cleaning and marking your ball on the green. BALL MARKER Up your game with technology. A rangefinder provides pinpoint yardage to the stick. RANGEFINDER Per official golf rules, players may car- ry a maximum of 14 clubs. My current go-to is Mizuno's 2020 line, including their MP-20 irons, ST200 woods, and M Cra II putter. CLUBS Carry at least two new sleeves. For par 3s, I play a brand-new ball. You never know when you may get that ever-elusive hole-in-one. GOLF BALLS Always have a handful. In a pinch, you can use a tee as a ball marker, to clean your cleats, or to fix a ball mark on the green. TEES Bandages, blister prevention, and pain medicine can come in handy. FIRST AID KIT Avoid loss of control during your swing by wearing gloves. Pack an extra pair if your hands tend to sweat. GLOVES Bring a towel to wipe perspiration from your hands and another to keep your grips dry and clubs clean. GOLF TOWEL Use a wired brush to keep your clubs clean from dirt and grass. GOLF CLUB CLEANER You can't keep score without one. Have a couple in case the tip breaks. PENCIL Stay hydrated and energized. I like to carry fruit, water, and a favorite snack FOOD AND DRINK A must in the Pacific Northwest! RAIN GEAR Protect your skin from UV rays so you can play day aer day! SUNSCREEN Missing something? Stop by the Club Shop on the lobby level for WAC-logo items, including golf balls, tees, visors, polos, and more.
