The Kentucky distiller's cask-finished bourbon requires nothing but a glass to enjoy fully. That didn't keep WAC Bartender Victor Anderson from developing his own twist on the Autumn Angel. This delicious cocktail taps Angel's Envy and enhances it with two Italian spirits—a well-balanced amaro and a rich vermouth—and finishes with a splash of Lillet Blanc. The drink is inspired in part by Prohibition-era bartenders, whose skills were constantly tested by the protean supplies of bootleggers. Back to the bourbon. The finishing process employed by Angel's Envy uses port wine casks and tacks on six months to the distiller's tradi- tional four- to six-year barrel-aging process.
