Teamworks MANAGER of the QUARTER ��� FALL 2012 DID YOU KNOW? ��� Will has a dog named Sweetie. ��� He has a love-hate relationship with fantasy football. ��� He says he���s addicted to the television series Breaking Bad and The League. Jennifer Mesler DID YOU KNOW? ��� Allen has a passion for photography and gardening. ��� He has an astronautical engineering degree from UW. ��� He loves eating contests and once ate 32 plates of sushi. DID YOU KNOW? ��� Sara grew up on a farm in southern Illinois until she was 10. She moved to Seattle six years ago. ��� The first time she swam in the ocean, she was almost 18 years old. ��� She studied in Australia and lived in housing built for athletes of the 2000 Olympic Games. ��� At 5 foot 10, Sara is the shortest person in her immediate family. Jennifer Mesler started at the WAC as head swim coach in the fall of 2002. Almost nine years later, she was promoted to Aquatics Supervisor. Since then, she has proven herself a perfect choice for the job. ���Jennifer���s ability to teach, coach and connect with swimmers and members is outstanding,��� Athletic Programs Manager Darin Barr says. Lifeguard and swim instructor Todd Kowalski agrees, noting that Jennifer has raised the bar for the Aquatics program and has increased member enjoyment and use of Helene Madison Pool. Jennifer also coordinates the Club���s emergency medical response program. Vice President Athletics Wayne Milner calls the program ���organized and effective,��� noting it has resulted in multiple life-saving efforts. ���Jennifer possesses the skills necessary to operate the WAC Pool at an extremely high level,��� Wayne says. ���She���s also an outstanding coach and teacher.��� Parents often rave about how Jennifer relates to young swimmers and adeptly teaches them to be relaxed and confident in the water. ���She is equally comfortable and effective teaching children and adults,��� Wayne says. DID YOU KNOW? ��� Before joining the WAC, Jennifer worked at a prison, where she met her husband ��� who also worked there. ��� Jennifer and her husband help provide premarital counseling for other couples through their church. ��� In 2010, Jennifer celebrated her 40th birthday with an Olympic swimmer as part of a fundraiser for Swim Across America, an organization that helps support Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.
